PSGR picked up the case of Maggi e to the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of Children (ACERWC), because it represents fundamental violation of human rights and has high potential for miscarriage of justice. The case was taken before the ACERWC, after exhausting all local remedies in Malawi to seek justice for Maggie. The primary objective of this level of advocacy is use the case to engage government of Malawi to address the systemic challenges that make girls and women vulnerable to sex trafficking but also deny them access to justice when victimised. At first, the ACERWC had to make decision on the admissibility of the case and the Committee agreed with us that we had done all we could and therefore the accepted we could go ahead to present the case before the Committee.

As a matter of procedurally, several communications detailing facts of the case and pieces of evidence were submitted before the Committee and Government was asked to respond. Several meetings both online and physical followed in the aftermath. Government requested that the case be settled amicably and both parties resubmitted revised terms of agreement following the request. In our prayer remedies before the Committee, we are asking that;
